Happy Saturday Friends! We have had a wonderful few months, with so many slimline releases as well as our new layered floral release for Fall. Our designers have been having so much fun creating with these new items, and we are beyond thrilled with the results. Our designer, Allison, said “It’s going to be hard to go back to regular size cards when there is so much extra space to play with on these Slimlines”!
Today we have this bright and fun card to show off and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Allison mentioned that when she saw this new floral set she was inspired to create her own patterned background with it. What a stunning result, right! This set in particular is amazing because it allows you to build your own bouquet, or sporadic wild flower scene, giving you endless unique options. By having every piece separate, you can easily build a background or use the florals for embellishments as well as focus images!
She started this project by stamping on a sheet of white card stock using the Color Fuse Inks in shades of blues, purples, yellows and leaves in green. Our Color Fuse are made to pair with our layered stamps, and work well because of their progressive color hues that make for seamless blending. This makes it soooo easy to create easy and stunning images.
Once she had a good number of florals on her paper, she used our new Deckled Slimline die cut to cut out her patterned paper creation! She decided to layer it on top of a blue precut panel from The Papercut, who remakes slimline layers for easy crafting purposes. They also carry slimline envelopes and slimline bases, #WINNING ! She then attached those to a white card base, which really made the entire card just pop!
One of the cool things about our Slimline dies, is that the inside cuts that are left over are also embellished, so you can use those pieces as well. Cut them out, save them for another project if the current one doesn’t require it. Allison used this square inside cut from our “Slimline OPC Scallop” die cut. She then stamped and heat embossed this simple sentiment on it. Using foam tape to pop this sentiment up, it really does look so beautiful.
To add a little more interest to the card, She decided to use our small flowers and stem dies, coloring them up with Copic markers to make some three dimensional elements to the card. By gluing these down around the sentiment, the simple sprigs popping out make the card so interesting and fun.
This card is already stunning, but she added some Nuvo drops in soft blue and translucent purple around the card to really finish it off. This card is going to make someone very happy when they open their mail. We just love seeing all of our new releases out in the world, help creatives design something beautiful. Be sure to head over to Rubbernecker.com, these slimlines sold out so fast in July and we just got more back in stock, so snag them along with the new Floral August Release of Layered Stamps while you can.
Stay Crafty!
