Flower cards handmade by you are always the perfect thing to send!

There are lots of ideas for flower cards handmade using stamps out there but there’s something so special about this one from Julie we just had to feature it here. This card is simply gorgeous with all its beautiful shading and dimension and guess what? All of that is thanks to one of our new layered floral stamp sets and our Color Fuse Ink! Let’s take a closer look at how to put this together.

First, Julie cut a piece of white card stock using our Nested Rectangle Stitch die set. She put it in her stamp positioner and used those beautiful blues from Color Fuse Set #7 to stamp the petals of these gorgeous blooms, following the included, free layering guide. She used greens from Color Fuse Set #10 for the leaves and stems and last, a touch of Custard Color Fuse Ink from Set #1 for the flower centers.

Julie then used her blending brush to buff in some yellows from the same Color Fuse Set #1 in the upper left hand corner, darkest to lightest toward the center and repeated this with greens from the same Color Fuse set as the leaves in the lower right. This easy addition of these perfectly blendable shades adds light and dimension and perspective to this simply stamped look.

For this part of the card, all that was left was to stamp the greeting in black ink and add some orange Stickles to the flower centers for a touch of sparkle and little more depth of color.

Now Julie cut a piece of card stock in a coordinating blue to layer the stamped piece and embossed it with mesh embossing folder. To really show off the texture of this piece, Julie rubbed a little white ink over the surface to help highlight the pattern and allow the embossed areas to offer shadows with more contrast. This is a handy tip when using darker card stock!
