We don’t know about you, but we love having handmade thank you card ideas handy because there are so many reasons to say “thank you”! Today, Allison is showing us one of these great DIY card ideas using one of our recently released background stamps and a fun coloring technique as the focal point.
We love how she created sort of an ombre look from the outside edges of the card to the center! She did this by stamping the background in Versamark and heat embossing her panel with white embossing powder. Then, using the Color Fuse Set # 9 – all turquoise hues – she blended the inks, darkest to lightest, from the outside in.
After all her blending was done, Allison used a tissue to wipe any extra ink off the embossed areas. PRO TIP: She used a dark turquoise colored pencil to add some shadow details to some of the leaves and flowers
Then Allison used the largest die from the Deckle Nested Die set to cut her panel out and mounted it on a crisp white card base.
For the greeting, Allison used Pumpkin Color Fuse from Set #2 to stamp “Thank You!” and cut the circles out with the OPC (One Piece Cut) Square Die. She added that to the center of the card, just above the midline.
For the butterfly, Allison used the Two Part Butterfly Die, cutting both out of white card stock. She used the Pumpkin and Citrus Color Fuse inks, using the same darkest at the edges to lightest in the center blending technique. PRO TIP: “Echoing” techniques on a singe project can really make all the elements pop!
She put the two die cuts together and added her beautiful butterfly with some dimensional adhesive.
Here are the products you will want to pull out or order to make these cards. And remember, you can make them in any and all shades of Color Fuse so choose your favorite from all the colors we have!
