Check out this idea for classic Christmas cards with poinsettias!

Christmas cards with poinsettias are a classic theme and most of the time they are beautifully done in reds and whites. Well Julie decided to render one in GOLD and white and it’s just stunning!  If you saw this post, you know that metallics are big this year and what better way to celebrate your crafting range than to create a classic motif with a trendy application?

To make this card, Julie cut both white card stock and glitter gold card stock with our Poinsettia #2 die. She did some shaping of the petals before assembling to make it easier to tweak the shapes of each element AND the whole flower.

To continue the sparkle, Julie used white glitter card stock and patterned paper with gold glittered berries, cut with dies from our Nested Rectangle Stitch and Nested Square Stitch die sets. To emphasize the gold, Julie stamped her greeting in Versamark onto a white card stock scrap, heat embossed it with gold powder and cut it with a stitched rectangle die.

Julie says this was actually a very easy card to make and we can see that it would be a fantastic batch card! You can do all your die cutting, broken up by layers, in chunks of time. Other open slots can be used to shape and assemble flowers. And the greetings can be done super fast by stamping all over a whole sheet of card stock, embossing all at once and then cutting as you go. Assembly is quick and you will have a stack of amazing cards to send in what will feel like no time!
