Poinsettia Christmas Card Class Instructions

We are so excited for this amazing Poinsettia Card class. If you ordered the dies and everything separately, and didn’t get our pre-cut paper kit, here are instructions on what to cut for each card. Cutting Instructions for each card:

Card #1

1 A2 fold 100# white

1 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# red 

2 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# green

1 4 ¼ x 5 ½ 100# white (inside piece)

pieces scrap red, pieces of yellow

  • Using the deckled edge piece, stamp the phrase (“May the Joys” or your personal choice) in the lower right corner as pictured using any ink color of your choice or Versamark and any embossing powder of your choice.
  • Apply dimensional foam tape (not provided) to the back of piece.
  • Attach to A2 fold card with fold on left
  1. Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ red piece 
  • cut 2 of the second smallest poinsettia flowers
  • cut 1 of the smallest poinsettia flower
  1. Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ green piece,
  • cut 1 of the second smallest poinsettia flower
  • cut 3 holly sets
  1. Using small piece of 
  • yellow, cut tiny flower buds (approx. 5)
  • red, cut round berries (approx. 10)

Card #2

1 Pre-cut A2 fold 100# white (center set V)

2 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# green

1 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# vellum

1 4 ¼ x 5 ½ 100# green

Scrap white 

  1. Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ green,

–    cut 2 largest poinsettia leaves

–    cut 3 holly sets and 2 twig sets

  • Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ vellum, stamp with embossing ink using splatter bkg stamp and emboss with white before cutting (you may wait until the class to do this if you wish).
  1. Cut 1 full set of poinsettia flower from embossed vellum.
  2. Using scrap white from card #4, cut center buds and berries in white as shown in photo.

Card #3

1 Pre-cut A2 fold 100# white (off-set V)

1 Pre -cut 100# pink (off-set V)

2 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# pink

2 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# green

  1. Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# pink,
  • cut 1 full set of poinsettia leaves
  • cut 1 additional extra-large poinsettia leaf piece
  • cut 1 additional large poinsettia leaf piece
  1. Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# green
  • cut 3 holly sets and 2 twig sets
  • cut 2 large poinsettia leaf pieces
  1. Using scrap pink
  • cut pink berries for holly (approx. 20)
  1. Using yellow piece
  • cut small flower buds for poinsettia center (5)

Card #4

1 Pre-cut A2 fold 100# white (curved edge)

1 4 ¼ x 5 ½ 100# red

1 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# white

4 3 x 6 100# white

Red scrap from card #1

  • Using 4 ¼ x 5 ½ 100# red piece, stamp with embossing ink using splatter bkg stamp and emboss with white embossing powder and heat set or stamp with white pigment ink (you may wait until the class to do this if you wish).
  • Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# white
  • cut 3 holly sets and 2 twig sets
  • Using 3 x 6 100# white
  • cut 6 large poinsettia leaf pieces
  • cut 3 small poinsettia leaf pieces
  • Using scrap red from Card #1
  • cut berries for holly (approx. 20)
  • cut small flower buds for center of poinsettias (3 each flower)

Card #5

1 A2 Fold 100# white

1 Deckled frame 100# white pre-cut

1 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# red

2 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# green

Piece yellow 

  • Using dimensional double stick tape, mount pre-cut deckled frame to A2 fold
  1. Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ red
  • cut full set poinsettia leaves
  • cut berries for holly (Approx. 20)
  1. Using yellow
  • cut small flower buds for center of poinsettia flower
  1. Using 5 ½ x 8 ½ 100# green
  • cut 3 holly sets and 2 twig sets
  • cut 2 extra-large leaf pieces
