This gorgeous, quick and easy mini slimline card is one we are bookmarking – this card is such a perfect example of something that comes together super fast in any color story and with a change of sentiments can be used for literally any card sending occasion.

While Julie used some watercolor scraps she had leftover from another project, you can almost instantly whip up your own hand painted pieces using watercolor paints, watercolor markers, alchohol inks, regular ink refills – just about any medium that will lay down color is one that you can use to create these pretty focal elements. Don’t feel like coloring? Grab some pretty patterned paper in abstract designs and save even more time!



Julie created the card by due cutting white and teal card stock layers using our brand, spankin’ new Mini Slimline Nested With Stitch dies and then cut the white piece with our MSLI Circles Stitch die. And yes, we most certainly DID make you all some mini slimline insert dies! We are very proud that our innovative slimline insert dies became a huge hit with card makers and when we were designing these mini slimline dies, it was a given that we would bring that same innovation to these smaller sized darlings.

Julie then cut her watercolored pieces with the same insert die and inlaid the watercolored circles into the openings of the white panel. Then she put this panel into her stamp positioner so she could restamp her greeting several times to get that gorgeous, complete coverage, even over the die cuts!

Julie adhered her white panel over the deal with some thin foam tape and added the whole assembly to her mini slimline card base with her tape runner. To add those magical Julie touches, she used a white Prismacolor pencil to outline the parts of her stamped greeting that overlapped her watercolored areas. This gives the sentiment a little “float” and helps give that impression of dimension. Then to finish it off, she dabbed a little color on the back of some clear Dew Drops with her Copics and added them to her card.
