Kittie shared one of her truly adorable bee cards with us and we just had to share it with YOU. Kittie used our Honeycomb Die, Bee With Hive, Grass #2 and Kittie Says Friends with a white on white color scheme using bright pops of yellow and black.
Kittie shares all her details over on her blog on the post you can see here and we thought we’d share a couple of highlights.
Kittie cut the honeycomb from a white panel and adhered to her white card base using foam tape. People are often tempted just to add the tape around the edges but Kittie reminded us that putting some in the center helps keep that panel from collapsing – especially during mailing – and getting creased.
Kittie also used vellum to cut the bee’s wings and says she loves the translucency of vellum for a realistic twist. And to create that itty bitty sunflower, she simply cut two of the little flowers from yellow, blended a little ink over one of them and layered them for a look that offers more impact than the little bit of effort needed to create it. And adding just a tiny bit of shaping to that brown center adds so much texture and dimension!
Kittie shares on her blog that she plans to make a little stack of the bee cards and leave the greeting strips blank for some super cute grab and go cards. We might just have to jump on that plan, too!
Here are the items from our store that she used today:
