CAS Guys Card that Wows!

Rubbernecker Blog unnamed-53
Hello my fellow crafty friends, Preeti here today on the Rubbernecker blog with two CAS (Clean and Simple) guy cards. It feels only like yesterday that we were celebrating New Years so how are we are through mid year already?? Where did the time go?? Well I am glad that even with all the chaos around us we have reasons to celebrate and it is time to celebrate all the Fathers out there. Today I am using the Diamonds Die from Rubbernecker in two different ways to make these cards.
I started both cards by ink blending two bristol smooth card stocks cut at 41/4×51/2 inches. I used Dreamer, Beachside and Fern Color Fuse inks for the blending. the first two colors are aqua colors and the third one is a green color. Blend the darkest of the blue from the bottom up about 1/3 of the cardstock. Blend the green color from the top edge of the cardstock again around 1/3 of the cardstock. Blend the center portion with the Beachside ink. This will give a smooth gradual blend. I was very impressed by how the colorful inks blended so well with each other.

Card 1:
  • Start by die cutting one of the blended panels using the Diamonds Die.
  • Stamp the hammer and the nails from the Tools Set stamp using black copic friendly ink
  • Color the images using Copic colors. I used T10 T08 T06, C03 C01 C0.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the same Tools set Stamp on to a dark gray cardstock and heat emboss it uisng white embossing powder
  • Adhere this sentiment directly on the white notecard using liquid glue.
  • Add the hopper with foam tape in an angle above the sentiment. Also add the colored nails around the diamond die cuts.

Card 2:
  • Cut a light gray card stock and fun foam to 4×51/4 inches. Die cut the Diamonds die on both of these cut panels.
  • Adhere clear acetate to the back of the gray die cut panel. The acetate was also cut to the same measurement as the gray panel.
  • Now adhere the gray acetate panel to the fun foam die cut panel using liquid adhesive.
  • Using the positive of the die cut panel as a guide adhere the diamond pieces on to a white top folding note card using foam adhesives.
  • Add Glitter and sea beads into some of the diamond wells.
  • Now adhere the Color blended bristol smooth panel over the fun foam sandwiching the glitter and beads. This will create the shaker element of the card.
  • Stamp and emboss the sentiment on to a dark gray cardstock with white embossing powder and cut it into a label.
  • Stamp the paint brush from the Tool Set stamps with copic friendly black ink.
  • Color the paint brush with copics and die cut it using the coordinating die. I used T10 T08 T0, E37 E35, E33, BG18 BG49 BG34.
  • Splatter white paint over the gray die cut panel.
  • Adhere the sentiment label and the paintbrush using foam adhesive to the top center of the diamond die cut panel.
  • Add a few gray gem stones and the card is finished.
