You will love making this CAS poppy card for
ALL your friends!
Today we’ve got a CAS poppy card that our friend Kittie made for her blog and was nice enough to share with us. Kittie says “this card is super quick and easy, can be done in lots of different colors and simply by changing up the greeting, can be used for so many different occasions.” She used our new Precious Poppies set and apparently you all love this new set because the first batch that came in went right back out! We’ve got plenty more so be sure to grab yours before they are gone again!
Kittie used our Color Fuse inks to color in her flowers and leaves and love that the vibrant colors really pop against that pure white background. When you have single elements in bold colors, often those are all you need to put a striking card together.
Some tips Kittie shares are to stamp and emboss your greeting for a super crisp look with some barely there dimension. The strong black against the pure white echoed in the stamp lines and in that fine strip of black card stock Kittie used for the stem create a nice “circle” for the eye. Also, by adding a white die cut layer over a white base with foam tape adds some dimension and shadow without introducing another color. And last, adhering the leaves just at the stem end allows them to offer even more dimension and depth by being “free” at the tip ends.
A few glossy accents using black Nuvo Crystal Drops adds even more black-against-white interest and adds just a teeny bit of motion to the card.
