Today we get to show off a gorgeous handmade card with coffee theme details from our Associate Designer, Julie Warner. You may remember this stunning card from this post and today we’ve got some fun additional inside scoop on this card. We figured there’s nothing like curling up with a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning…..
First let’s get another look at this beautiful card:
Julie wanted to create an image where it looked like this coffee lover was in a “real life” coffee shop. She stamped, colored with Copics and die cut that lovely character and then took this to the next level with a clever trick.
She stamped the coffee slimline background stamp with white ink on black card stock and cut out a rectangle. Then she colored it all in with Prismacolor pencils, aiming for the look that is all the rage in coffee shops where they use colored chalk on black boards to create every-changing art. We say she succeeded! She trimmed it down, framed it with a white die cut frame and “hung” it on “the wall”.
She popped her person up on some foam tape and voila – a perfect coffee shop vignette!
Here are the Copic markers Julie used on her lady:
And here are the items you will want to have on hand or order to recreate this card that is just so perfect for anyone you know who loves coffee, or tea or chai or cocoa!
