Today’s handmade red and aqua Christmas card will totally stand out among all the others!

Unconventional color combinations are always a treat at the holidays and the cards that use them tend to really stand out. Today’s handmade red and aqua Christmas card from Julie features such classic motifs and in these gorgeously complimentary colors with that touch of silver, this card is one that will be admired and remembered!

Shall we check out her steps for making this together?

Julie started by selecting one of the gorgeous new patterns in our brand new 6 X 6 Snowy Wonder Paper Pad and then two complimentary shades of aqua and a bold, classic red. She used our Nested Rectangle With Square Holes die set to cut a large paler aqua panel with the largest die and her patterned paper with a smaller one. She cut a panel of the darker aqua to sit between those two layers and adhered everything together with her tape runner, adhering it all to a white card base.

She then used both our Buildable Poinsettia and Poinsettia #2 dies to cut the two colors of aqua, red and silver glitter card stock. Julie gently shaped the die cuts with her fingers to give them a slightly cupped shape and adhered her layers together with very thin foam adhesive to create lots of depth and dimension when the entire flower was assembled. She added lots of dabs of silver Stickles to the center and set it aside to dry.

Here’s a great shot where you can see the dimension.

For her sentiment, Julie used two shapes from our Small Tags Die set and cut both shades of the aqua card stock. She stamped just the word “Christmas” from a longer greeting onto the smaller tag and adhered them together. Then using our Wishes Word With Shadow die set, she cut the shadow portion from the lighter shade of aqua and the script portion from the red, adhering them together with liquid glue.

Once her flower center was dry, Julie adhered it to her card along with her two sentiment elements and this show stopped of a card was ready to go!
