Celebrate Juneteenth with Rubbernecker through beautiful cards
Today is Juneteenth, a date we recognize as being a day in our country when ALL people knew they were free people. We invite you to celebrate Juneteenth with Rubbernecker through your own artwork and want to share with you some exciting news about our exclusive line of characters of people of color.
First, for those of you who don’t know the origination of Juneteenth, here’s a very brief version of the history with which the day is recognized. In January of 1863, the Emancipation Proclamation abolished slavery in the United States. Some states were under Confederate control, however, and did not acknowledge this. The (at the time) most western state in the Confederacy, Texas, was the last to be reached as Union troops crossed the country to make this information public. On June 19th, these troops reached Galveston Bay, Texas and publicly announced that more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state were now free by executive decree.
So this date is, indeed, one to celebrate!
Now, we have always believed that diversity is an advantage and we are one of the few companies in our industry who love sharing that beauty and richness through our products. For a very long time we had our extensive collection of beautiful people of color stamps issued in red rubber. Recently, we made the decision to reissue these as digital stamps, allowing us to offer them at a lower price point. This means that you don’t have to choose between one or two but can purchase a larger collection thanks to the cost of digital stamps being so much less than the rising price of red rubber these days.
You can see all these fabulous friends in our Digital Stamp collection here.
And here are some spectacular cards made with stamps from our collection.
We feel blessed to offer everyone the chance to celebrate Juneteenth with Rubbernecker. And now with our impressive collection offered in cost effective digital stamps, you can use all of our beautiful people of color in your cards for less!
