Come get all the fun tips to make a summer slimline card like this one!

You can tell our designers are into this month’s theme – we are seeing the MOST fun summery projects and it makes us want to break out our straw hats and flip flops! When Sammi decided to make a summer slimline card like the one she did today, she sure did make us want to hit the beach!

Sammi used gorgeous bright Color Fuse Inks in a few ways to bring this fabulous card to life and we are so here for it! Let’s get all her details so we can get started on our own.

Sammi started by adding her hot summer sun to her background by using some Mint Tape – a low tack tape that is great for masking – and taped off where the sun would meet the water. She ink blended the top portion with sunny shades from Color Fuse set #1 and #2 using our Sun Burst Stencil.

Then Sammi moved the tape down and using shades from Color Fuse Set #3, blended her “sand” onto her panel. To add a fun textural look, she smudged some Pecan Color Fuse Ink onto her glass mat, added some water and splattered some of this onto the sand. Also, to give this scene just a touch of an aged look she added a little Mocha Color Fuse Ink around the edges of her sunny section – brilliant!

Sammi then cut out the waves using our Waves die and ink blended them with the beautiful blues in Color Fuse set #8 and then glued them onto the card panel where the sun and sand meet on the card panel, offsetting them a bit for more detail. When she had everything inked and added, she used a die from our Mini Slimline Tabbed Deckle set to cut out the card panel so all the edges were detailed. She then adhered this to a slimline card base with her tape runner.

Now she moved on to her delightful details. She used our Palm Trees, Beach Umbrellas and Beach Chairs dies to cut her elements from scraps of white card stock. Sammi then colored everything up using Color Fuse Ink Sets #10, 11, and 3 for the palm trees:

Sets #6 and #9 for the umbrella:

And #6 with a touch of Pecan for her chair.

She added all these little details with dimensional foam tape and as a final touch added some pearl embellishments from her stash.
