Today we have a fun twist on all the amazing slimline cards we’ve been showing off – we’ve got an off-the-charts cute and oh-so-simple to make slimline baby boy card for you to try!

Our designer Jamie created this for us and we think it’s just adorable! Of course, you could adapt this for a baby girl, too by maybe spelling out “joy”? Either way, this is a really sweet project and it’s relatively simple to put together. Let’s get the inside scoop!

First Jamie cut light blue card stock with the Slimline OPC Hearts die and then stamped it with the Horizontal Stripe background stamp with Whisper Color Fuse ink. She layered it onto a panel of white glitter paper and then mounted that onto a darker blue for some fun contrast.

Then she stamped three hippos onto white card stock, colored them with her Inktense pencils and cut them out with the coordinating dies. She added one tiny, happy hippo near each circle on her card using foam tape for some added dimension. Then she cut out b, o and y using the same shade of blue as her card front and just popped them into each of the circles.

Truly adorable, right? We just love using our tiny animals for baby cards – there’s something so sweet about their expressions and positions. And we have animals for EVERYONE! Cute animals, silly animals, baby animals, stuffed animals…….you can see them here and pick your faves!
