We just love snowman Christmas cards and today we are sharing one created by our Associate Designer Kittie Caracciolo. Kittie has such a way with die cuts and today she’s outdone herself again with this cheerful card that is perfect for “kids” of all ages!
We love that Kittie took full advantage of the oversized scale of a slimline card to add this nice fat snowman sitting on his comfy snow bank and visited by those bold red cardinals. Of course, this design could be placed on an A2 card but the extra space is perfect for this scene!
You can get all of Kittie’s details and step by step instructions on her blog here but we thought we would share some of the highlights here for quick reference.
To get that lovely gently falling snow effect, Kittie applied white pigment ink to the splatter background stamp and stamped the top half of her die cut light blue panel and embossed with white embossing powder. We LOVE the texture this gives her background!
Kittie also cut some deckle hills for her snow banks and cut them again with the same Slimline Square Frame Die that she used on the light blue panel to create that seamless edge.
We are also getting such a HUGE kick out of the snowman holding that sweet little tree. Kittie uses Glossy Accents to attach all her tiny pieces like the decorations on the tree, the adorable tiny sprigs on his hat and his coal smile. Using something with a tiny aperture for the adhesive means you don’t end up with a gluey mess even with all our fabulous teeny details!
Kittie also stamped her evergreens in the background with the splatter stamp as she did the background which really helps with that visual illusion of true depth and perspective.
Here are the things from the store that Kitties used on this project:
