With summer right around the corner I thought it was a good time to make a summer themed card and this die that cuts all these tiny paper flowers was the inspiration. Let’s take a peek!
I just love how all those tiny paper flowers behind the fence add so much texture and dimension with nothing more than a swipe through my die cutting machine and some adhesive! It’s almost like a shaker card without the shake!
Here’s how I made this card – I think you will be so happy when you see how easy it is!
I cut a frame from white card stock using the gorgeous nested Scallop With Holes die with and attached with foam tape to a white card base. I love using white on white like this because it adds beautiful shadows without extra color.
The sentiment was stamped in Versafine ink and heat embossed in clear. I love this technique because it makes the stamped ink stand up a little with the dimension from the embossing powder and gives it just a touch of gloss.
Then I used several of the new Color Fuse inks to custom color some white card stock and cut out the various swatches with the dies shown below. I decided to “custom color” my card stock so I could show off how absolutely beautifully all of these Color Fuse shades work together.
I then glued down all those tiny paper flowers, leaves and vines in a nice rich bunch and added that adorable fence in front. I added some more tiny paper flowers up and around the frame and the greeting.
Then I had to add some little die cut birds were coloured with copics in the colours B02, B000 and B0000 so I could control the shading and then added to the garden.
