Who is ready to celebrate the Red, White and Blue next week? We were very excited to release our *NEW* Fourth of July die-cuts a few weeks ago as part of our big summer release. The fireworks are so fun for any type of celebration card, and add a fun embellishment to your projects. And the new Margarita/Daiquiri die cuts just scream summer and make us wish we were laying by the pool.
Today we have a summer treat for you with this festive card featuring the new die cuts. Our designer went above and beyond and made these fireworks into a fun shaker card that absolutely explodes off the paper!  We are always amazed at how creative our team gets and love seeing the new products brought to life. Want to make this project? Follow along with us below. Rubbernecker Blog Rubbernecker_Lisa%2BBzibziak_06.25.20c
Our designer started off by die cutting the shaker cover using the Nested Scallop with Half Holes largest rectangle and the Star Bursts/Fireworks dies together by taping the fireworks in place where she wanted them and running them through her Gemini.  Then she flipped it over and added a piece of acetate over the cutout fireworks and then foam tape around the entire panel.  She used the foam tape to block off the area where the sequins would go so they wouldn’t just fall to the bottom of the shaker and then some additional foam tape for support on the rest of the shaker.

Shaker cards are always so much fun to make and to receive. They can be a bit tricky, but she mentioned that she just eyeballed where the sequins would go and placed them onto the blue base and popped the top over them!

She cut the margarita glass and contents from Copic friendly paper and colored the pieces before gluing them together. This is a fun tip because it gives you endless possibilities on how you can use this die cut. By coloring it in different shades, this could be a fun Cinco de Mayo margarita, maybe a Valentines Day margarita…. maybe a “It’s Friday” margarita haha.

She colored this festive 4th of July margarita slush in a red, white and blue and then added some sparkles using red and blue gel pen and just dotted it on and then some Wink of Stella for the white center.  She colored the straw in stripes and added gel to that also.  She then popped the glass up onto the base, which gave the card some fabulous dimension!

She stamped this super fun sentiment onto some white cardstock using Serene Color Burst Ink and then centered it with a banner die and cut it out and added it to the card.

Finally a few more sequins got added as if they escaped from her shaker…so fun!  We’d drink that drink!
We hope you were able to follow along, maybe pin this project for later if time doesn’t allow it for now. Be sure to tag us in all of your projects, we love seeing how creative each of you are, nothing excites us quite as much as seeing our products out in the world!
