Use a colorful card border to set off a special quote and a loving greeting!

We just love this simple colorful card border made by just stamping with bright colors – it’s SO cheerful and it sets off this lovely stamped quote and sweet sentiment. Shall we dive in and make one?

Choose the colors that speak to you and line them up as you want them to appear on your card for easy reference. Renee chose bold, bright hues of Colur Fuse: Crimson, Citrus, Grass, Serene and Lilac for her silhouetted images from our Organic Set #1 around the top and bottom borders of her card.

Stamp your images in your choice of color arrangement with the different stamps along the bottom edge of the card base or card panel. Flip your card over and repeat along the opposite edge.

Now stamp the quote from the same set in the center of the card in black for some bold graphic impact. To make your sentiment, die cut our Hugs from a rich red. Take a scrap of black card stock and stamp your sentiment in Versamark and heat emboss with white powder. PRO TIP: be sure to use your favorite anti-static tool before heat embossing to prevent any little stray specks from becoming accidental design elements!

Cut the black card stock with a die that suits your project. PRO TIP: Invest in one or two sets of nested dies, like our Inside Scallop Nested dies used here, for cutting sentiments – you are likely to always have a size that works!

Add your Hugs right over the quote and then add the die cut piece with foam tape. Renee added some clear enamel dots for a little added interest – choose your favorite little embellishment and your card is ready to go!
