Learn how to make a cute AND spooky Halloween card to cover all the bases!

Today we are so excited to share a very cute and spooky Halloween card from Annie that has us both feeling the little shivers from the background and then a giggle from the adorable little creatures getting ready to trick and treat. This card is also pretty easy and fun to make so you get two pluses in on with two effects in one!

Let’s get Annie’s details so we can join in on the fun!

Stamp the images from our new Pumpkin Dress Up Stamp Set onto white card stock – Annie used alcohol friendly ink to work with her Tombow ABT Pro Markers – and color in with your favorite medium. Cut them out with our new coordinating die and set them aside to plan their trick or treating route while you make your background.

For that beautiful, dramatic backgrounds, take a piece of black card stock, lay our Winter Tree Stencil over it and, if desired, secure in place with a little washi tape. Using a foam blending tool, apply Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Inks through the stencil to make that doomy gloomy, slightly ominous sky. PRO TIP: Annie says “I used a dabbing motion instead of the typical circular blending motion to apply the ink heavily onto the paper for a more vivid look”. Thanks, Annie – we will definitely remember that tip!

When your background panel is completely, dry, use the largest die from our Nested Deckle Rectangle Die Set to cut it out.

Stamp your sentiment onto a scrap of black card stock and trim it with your paper snips, leaving a narrow border around the letters.

Now assemble this cute and spooky Halloween card! Adhere a card sized piece of black card stock to a white card base (this makes it easier to write inside!) and then adhere your stenciled and die cut background over that with dimensional adhesive.

Add your little dressed up gourds and sentiment with more dimensional adhesive and – voila – chills and thrills all in one!
