Cute Baby Shower Cards

Rubbernecker Blog
Hi friends, Preeti here. I have two cute baby shower cards for you today using the Rubbernecker Over The Moon stamp set. These can be easily switched for a new baby boy or a baby girl card by simply replacing the sentiments. For my cards  today I wanted to use only the sentiments provided in this stamp set.
Card 1:

  • Stamp the bear and the moon images from the stamp set using a copic friendly ink in black onto a bleed proof white cardstock. The cardstock I have used is Neenah Solar White 80 lbs smooth cardstock. Color the images using copic colors. I kept the coloring very simple. These images were colored using two or three shades of markers. I will have all the colors I have used for these cards towards the end of this post.
Use the coordinating dies to die cut these images and keep them aside.
  • Die cut several clouds using the Clouds Die on a white cardstock. Shade the bottom of the clouds with light blue copic markers to give a hint of color to the clouds. Dab liquid glue just to the shaded bottom of the glue and dip it into fine glitter. This adds a lot of shimmer to the clouds.
  • Take a watercolor cardstock cut at 4×51/4 inch, and add some loose water color sky in grays with a hint of pink in the top enter of the cardstock. Let it dry completely.
  • Adhere all the colored elements on the dried watercolor panel using foam tapes and liquid glue. Stamp the sentiment on a black cardstock using white embossing powder and cut it using a scissor with a fish tail on one end. Add some star sprinkles and adhere this panel onto a side folding white notecard

    Card 2:

  • Stamp the bunny and the moon images on to a bleed proof white cardstock using a copic friendly ink. Color the images using copic markers and keep the aside. On a water color cardstock , do some loose water coloring using gray and blue watercolor paints and keep it aside to completely dry. You can use a heat gun to speed up the process, but sometimes it does add to the warping of the paper
  • Cut a rectangle using the nested Rectangle die in the top center of a white cardstock. Adhere a sheet of acetate to the back of this die cut rectangle. Add foam tape to create a well around the window on the back of the white cardstock. Fill this well with sequins, gems or glitter. I used a lot of star sprinkles for my shaker element. I also doubled my tape to make sure there was plenty of room for my shaker bits to move. Adhere the watercolored panel to close the shaker window.
  • Die cut several clouds on a white cardstock using the Clouds die. And repeat the same steps for the clouds as the first card.
  • For selective stamping of the sentiment, cover the word “dream” and ink up only “Big” and stamp it on one of the clouds using black ink. Next cover the “Big” and stamp just the “dream” on a black cardstock using embossing ink and emboss it using white embossing powder. Cut the “dream” sentiment into a thin strip and adhere
it above the “Big” using liquid glue.
  • Adhere all the colored elements and the sentiment cloud on to the shaker window using foam tape and liquid glue.
  • Adhere some star sprinkles and mount this panel onto a top folding white notecard.
