You can make this die cut card for Dad in mere moments!

As this month’s theme is all about cards to celebrate other special people, today Jamie is sharing this quick and easy idea for a sweet die cut card for Dad. Jamie used a combination of decorative paper and glitter paper layered together with different edges for lots of texture.

Jamie started by die cutting her decorative paper using one of the dies from our Nested Rectangle Stitch die set. She also cut white glitter paper using a die from our our Nested Scallop With Holes set.

She adhered the decorative panel to the center of the white glitter panel and then adhered both to a black card base. Using the two different edges – the stitching and the scallops – adds lots of visual interest without distraction.

Next, Jamie used our Sea Grass die to cut black glitter paper. This die is one of our most popular foliage dies because it cuts a beautifully detailed silhouette and makes a subtle but striking impact on a card.

Then using scraps of black and white glitter paper, Jamie cut two different sized butterflies using our Stacked Butterflies die set and adhered them together, adding a couple of enamel dots on the body for a touch of color and some detail.

Jamie then used more white glitter paper scraps to cut out “DAD” using our Upper Case Alphabet with Stitch Die and adhered the letters and her butterfly to the card. She added a white card stock panel inside the card for her writing and this was ready to wow someone special!

This die cut card for dad is perfect for a quick project AND it’s so lovely to give to someone you know who is a dad and maybe doesn’t get as much attention as other dads do. And of course, because the card is so fetching, you can swap out that sentiment for anything else and have a card idea that is endlessly useful!
