Hey there friends, Lisa here! So happy you’re joining us today! Today I’m sharing with you one of two cards I’ve made using the festive Pumpkin Background Stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps. For this one, I colored the entire background and used it in a design where I made sure that all of that hard work doesn’t get covered up!
To make it interesting but not too crazy, I stuck to a color pallet of greens, oranges, and purples with just a touch of gray. I chose three different combos of oranges for my pumpkins for slight variations to add interest. I used two different combos of green for the stems and a third to use on the hats, candles, ghosts, candy and gifts along with two combos of purples. I used the grays for the spider, bats and bones as well as the little bit of white space.
When I was all done coloring, I created a frame using the Nested Deckle Rectangle dies by placing a smaller one inside the larger one and using washi tape to keep them in place once I felt my edges were even and ran them through my Gemini together. I attached my colored panel to a card base in black and then popped the frame up over it. I attached the webs to the inside corners before I added the popup tape to be sure I had enough space to attach them to the back of the frame.
I stamped the Happy Halloween onto black cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed it in white. Next I fussy cut the sentiment so it would not cover up too much of my background. That was popped up as well and was the perfect place for another web. Finally I attached the spider and bat die cuts and of course a few sequins! I added Glossy Accents to the bats, but decided to leave the spider matte.
This festive Pumpkin Background is SO fun! But you don’t always have to color the whole thing! Come back on Monday and I’ll be sharing my second card that with the same stamp and a different look.. but still fun and colorful!
