No matter what kind of pupper they have, this might just be the perfect handmade card for dog lovers everywhere!

We were so delighted when we first saw this super cute handmade card for dog lovers. The classic color combination of red, white and black along with the easy, nested layers highlights those sweet little paw print hearts to perfection. Let’s follow along with Jamie’s step by step instructions so we can make our own!

To begin, cut a piece of white card stock using one of the dies from our Mini Slimline Nested With Stitch set. Using a larger die from same Mini Slimline Nested set, cut a piece of patterned paper  – Jamie chose a classic red and white plaid design. Also cut a piece of black card stock with the largest die from our Mini Slimline Tab Scallop Holes die set.

Using a stamp positioner to make it easier, stamp that darling paw print heart from our Dogs Front and Back set with Versamark ink in the center and heat emboss with red powder.

Now stamp the heart again on each side of the red heart, again with Versamark ink, and heat emboss with black powder.

Die cut or trim a piece of black card stock to serve as a mat for your stamped panel and adhered them together with adhesive tape.

Adhere your patterned paper panel to the center of this black frame.

Add this assembly to a white mini slimline card base. Adhere your paw print panel to the center of your card with some dimensional adhesive.

Stamp your choice of greeting – Jamie used one from the same stamp set – onto a scrap strip of white card stock with black ink and then accent the greeting with a tiny stamped paw print in Crimson Color Fuse Ink from Set #4. Trim this down closely to the stamping and adhere it over the upper left corner of the card, tucking it slightly under the focal panel.

How perfect is this? You can send it to anyone who loves their puppers, you can change up the color story if you like and you can use it to celebrate a new addition to the family, “just because” or even to express your sympathy when someone loses a fur baby.
