We know that sometimes having super fast and easy handmade Christmas card ideas in your inspiration files is like money in the bank. Forgot someone on your card list? Need a few quick and easy cards to give out tips? Want to send something to a new friend? As the holidays get closer, our card making time gets more scarce and having an idea like this one from Kittie is a GODSEND!
Kittie made this card using one rubber stamp, one frame die cut and one die set for the holly for a ton of impact with some quick craftiness. You can get all her inside tips and tricks on her original post here.
She stamped her large greeting in the center of her card base and heat embossed with gold for that one touch of luxury. Using any of our oversized greetings this way is a HUGE time saver!
Then she cut her red frame and popped it over and around the greeting with some foam tape. Using dimensional adhesive in this way adds shadow and depth and takes a cute card to a wow card.
Now, Kittie is a die cut QUEEN and takes our dies and turns them into artwork every time. Don’t believe us? Check out her blog here but prepare yourself – you’re not going to want to do ANYthing but craft afterward! So she cut her holly from green card stock and her berries from red card stock and put them together (but see below if you want to save even more time). She also took a little time to shape her holly sprigs using a leaf tool and a molding pad. You can improvise if you don’t have these tools AND if you decide you don’t want to do the shaping, your card will still look fantastic!
She arranged her sprigs in the two opposite corners and then, for that last magical touch, added some red Stickles to her berries and the dot on the letter J. While we do see that the red Stickles on red card stock is super vibrant we are guessing that you could save even more time by just dotting the Stickles over the berry section of the sprigs.
Here are the items Kittie used on today’s project:
