This quick and easy mini slimline card
truly calls out Spring!
It’s never to early to start collecting ideas for all your handmade spring cards. This one, from Kittie, literally calls out Spring. And while it’s so easy to make, there are no details sacrificed thanks to our new mini slimline dies and just a few tiny paper flowers. Let’s take a closer look at this oh-so-pretty card.
Kittie layered her deckle edged, stitch detailed pale blue panel over a card base of the same color which adds lovely texture with no contrast, letting all the little details create that richness. Her use of a bright pink frame with the same stitch detail unites the two pieces and offers that true pop of color.
Then Kittie echoed the pale blue in her script, setting that against the white shadow to let it “float” above the card. Then, by limiting her tiny detail flowers to just two colors – the same bright pink and a warm yellow – she was able to create just enough visual movement to make this card irresistible to look at.
Kittie also used dimension to make this card even more interesting. She added her pink die cut frame with dimensional adhesive, added the greeting the same way and then used her iconic paper shaping tips on her tiny paper flowers. This realistic shaping allows the flowers, as tiny as they are, to have lots of impact on the design. If you go on over to her post on her own blog, you can see all her steps and her super easy tips for making these flowers look just picked.
