This handmade toy train Christmas card is so adorable and has the most amazing details!

We are known for our including all kinds of extra components in our die sets to allow crafters to make things that are incredibly detailed, giving them so much more creative opportunity on their projects. Today’s handmade toy train Christmas card is just so breathtaking in real life and we cannot stop looking at it.

As you might guess this is from our Exclusive Associate Designer, Kittie Caracciolo and if you haven’t seen her work yet, you are really missing out! Kittie uses our dies exclusively to create her magical works of art and this incredible card is just one example.

We especially love that Kittie set her classic die cut toy train on a slimline card. As she says in her original post here, “This worked out perfectly since it really created a whole scene and the extra space made it look like the train was chugging along. It would have fit on a mini slimline, and a horizontal A2 card base too, but I just love all that extra space to set it off.”

You can get all the steps Kittie took to make this card on her blog so even if you are a beginner card maker, you can follow along and create this card, as spectacular as it is!

Beside all the darling details we design into our sets, we also – for the more complex sets – provide a handy “cheat sheet” on our website so you can know what each of the little die cuts are intended for.

Note that Kittie customized her little train by adding a cute little topper on the caboose by cutting the smoke stack sections off the engine. We LOVE it!

And even though this toy train is a classic Christmas icon, there is nothing about the design that says it is limited to Christmas cards! This would be a charming all winter long card, an adorable new baby card or even a card for someone who is or loves travel.
