Remember, these mini slimline card sketches are meant for you to get the seed of an idea. You can make it EXACTLY as shown or completely change it up to make it completely yours. In fact, we’d LOVE to see what you do with these so don’t be shy about sharing over on our Facebook fan page – everyone in there is really really nice and they love to see what everyone else is doing.

Speaking of doing, let’s get into how Julie made this card. She started by cutting a piece of hot pink card stock with the second largest die in our Mini Slimline Nested With Stitch set and then used one of the circles from our Nested Circle With Stitch set to cut the shape from the upper center of this panel.

She then cut that circle with a smaller circle die from the same set, saving the little circle shaped frame she created. She layered her hot pink panel over a piece of black card stock cut to add a whisker of a border and then adhered her small hot pink die cut circle into the opening, offsetting it to create a crescent to one side.

Quick design note: any time you offset shapes, you create a visual interest by adding what the brain perceives as a form of motion. This means it wants to look at your card more and more and creates lots of fun impact!

Then Julie stamped our Peaceful Elegance stamp several times, colored them in with her watercolor brushes using shades from Color Fuse Ink Sets #2, 4, 5 and 10. She die cut them with the coordinating doe and then, trimming as needed, arranged them around the outside of the circular opening.

For her greeting, Julie cut the script portion of our Hello Script With Shadow die set out of both black and white card stock and adhered them together, again, slightly off set, with liquid glue and added it to the center of the small circle die cut. She scattered just a few gold rhinestones for some reflective accents and this stunning card was ready to share!
