Pumpkin greeting cards aren’t just for Halloween. Pumpkins are available all through fall right up to the start of winter so you can use this seasonal motif for a good long stretch. And when you are able to make a card as artful as this idea from Kittie, you can add any sentiment to it and have a card that’s ideal for just about any occasion.

Kittie shares all her details for the making of this card over in her original pumpkin greeting cards post and we thought we would share a couple of the things she did that make this card so lovely.

First, her use of the paper from our Harvest Time Paper Pad shows off to perfection how easy it is to create a whole vibe. When you use a detailed design like this in the background, you can add those simple die cut elements and create that scene that looks like it was way more work than it actually is!

Then, Kittie shares that she cuts her pumpkins from bright yellow card stock so that when she adds her ink over them for shading and dimension, the yellow peeks through as a highlight. Great tip!

And the last tip we thought was so clever was when she inks up her ivy, she just does it in random patches. This adds such a lifelike look and is so much easier than trying to “realistically” color those tiny pieces!

  1. Hi, I just wanted to contact you to find out if there has ever been another concern regarding a stamp & die combination that doesn’t match up? I know that I am not the only one out there that has ordered stamps & dies and has not used them right away (my stamping friends and I do this all the time!), but I opened my “Dogs front and back (3486-02),” stamps and coordinating dies (3486-02D) last night to make a card for a friend who just got a new puppy. I stamped the row of dogs front & back and colored them and went to use the dies to cut both the front & back pieces and both dies are too short and do not match up. This is extremely frustrating. I have been stamping and using die-cuts for 15 years so it’s not like I don’t know what I am doing. So I was just wondering if this particular die combo might have had an issue with others?

    1. Hey Joy. We are so sorry to hear this.. The first run we did had an error in it and we shipped new sets out to people, however it looks like you may have not received the corrected die. Please send us an email at customerservice@rubbernecker.com and we will get a new die in the mail to you right away. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you find the new dies easy to use and are able to make the best card for you friend and her new puppy!
