Handmade cards with doors on them have been popular for several years. Yes, they are perfect for all those home themed cards- welcome home, housewarming, congratulations on the move, etc – but it seems like the more they are used, the more occasions they are used for. We felt like it was time for a little refresh of this classic motif and so we give you the new Rubbernecker door die set, Door with Stone Facade.
Today we are sharing Kittie’s post from her blog where she shared how she created two totally different looks on two cards using this versatile set. We added in lots of pretty details and then upped the ante by adding an accessory set, our Winter Door Parts. This set, despite having the word “winter” in the description, can actually be used all year round. You just have to check it out – it’s another one of those sets that you will reach for over and over to add those little extra details to your door and outdoor cards.
Kittie says “The instructions for assembling the door are exactly the same for both cards. I loved adding the colorful window to each door. I based the whole color scheme for the first scene around the colors I used for the window. I used shades or mustard, rust and yellow to create the second window. I thought it was more fitting for a Christmas scene.”
