We love seeing projects that use the designs from our Paper Pads in flexible ways and this quick and easy fun fold Christmas card is perfect! You can use any of the patterns from any of our holiday or winter themed Paper Pads with this card design and that simple fun fold adds just enough interest to make the card look like more intricate than it is. Then you can add whatever embellishments you want and you’ve got a big batch of fantastic cards to send out.

Let’s learn from Jamie how she made this card and then let’s talk about all the ways this card design could be a great stash buster project. You all know how we love these win-win designs!

First, Jamie cut one of the sheets from our Festive Farmhouse 6 X 6 Paper Pad to 4″ x 5 1/4″, then on the right side center point, cut in a 1/4″ deep slit. She then folded the paper back as shown making sure the folds go to the corners of the paper. PRO TIP: Using a scoring tool will make these folds super crisp and get those corners lined up just so. It’s worth the step!

Jamie then adhered this fun folded piece to a piece of kraft colored card stock cut 1/4″ less wide than the card size you wish to use. She then adhered that to her dark green card base all the way to the left to allow that narrow band of the card base color to show along the right side.

She added a strip of green glitter washi tape to the left side of the decorative paper. PRO TIP: If you don’t have washi tape, you can also cut a thin strip of glitter paper and glue it down.

Now Jamie chose a second sheet of the same design and die cut it with one of the dies from our Nested Scallop w/ Half Holes set.

Jamie chose a die from our Nested Rectangle Stitch Die Set that fit inside her scalloped element from white card stock and stamper her sentiment using our Build A Phrase Holiday set with Cinnamon Color Fuse Ink from Set #. She assembled these together and then added it to her card using some foam adhesive for some dimension.

For her embellishments, Jamie used our Holly #2 Die to cut some dark green and red card stock scraps and put them together with some liquid glue. She used a white gel pen to add some details to the leaves and then adorned her sentiment element with them.

SUPER cute!

Now, we love this design not just because the card is so charming but also because this is a design that you can vary so many ways and use up so many bits and pieces that coordinate with the papers you choose.

First, we have SEVEN collections of patterned papers that you can use for your Holiday or winter cards:

With multiples of designs in each pad you can mix and match patterns within and across the collections for endless design options.

Also, this is an ideal project to use up your scraps! Use your favorite dies to cut coordinating embellishments from any of your scraps – you can even cut your scalloped sentiment frame out of a solid color and save the patterns for the large fun folded panels.

You can also use up all those rolls of washi tape, lengths of ribbons and trims and even shop your stash for leftover stickers, dimensional elements or random embellishments. It’s a holiday card; go ahead and decorate each one individually and get a gorgeous variety of cards using this one idea.

Here are the items from our store that Jamie used today to make her version of this card:
