This slimline fall flower card gets gussied up with the addition of some rich gold!
This month we have so many delicious fall projects to share with you and this slimline fall flower card is just one of a handful of these oversized beauties we want to show you. Today Melinda created this project using touches of metallic gold that completely change the vibe of this card. Let’s see how she did it!
She started by using our Slimline Birch Tree stencil and some Rose and Blush Color Fuse ink to decorate a piece of white card stock cut to 3″ X 8″.
She then used our Slimline Nested Stitch die set to cut a frame from gold metallic card stock with the largest and second largest dies and then a center panel using the smallest die – SAVE that extra “frame”! She adhered these pieces to her stenciled background with her tape runner and then added that to her card base.
She stamped several of each of the images from our Darling Dahlias set with Copic-friendly ink and colored them in with her Copics, using light medium and dark RV colors and a medium shade of YR for details. When these were all colored up, she cut them out with the coordinating dies.
She arranged these hand colored die cut elements over her card until she had an arrangement she liked. PRO TIP: Use Press ‘N’ Seal plastic wrap to press over your designs to keep them in place when adding the adhesive to the backs. If you don’t have that on hand, use some old washi tape or painter’s tape to hold everything together, flip it over and then add your adhesive to the back to keep your arrangement intact.
Melinda added her foam tape over the back of her arrangement, “bridging” die cuts with pieces of adhesive to help hold them in place.
Then she flipped it all over and pressed them all into place in one swoop!
We love the subtle autumn colors in this slimline fall flower card and think that gold just takes everything up a notch to be even extra special~
