This idea for versatile handmade Christmas cards just might be your perfect solution!

There are tons of ideas out there for versatile handmade Christmas cards that you can change up and many of them require lots of additional thinking and designing to adapt the design. This card might just the perfect antidote to that and still let you add your own creative twists.

What makes this card so easily adaptable is that you use a simple cluster of stamped images tucked under a decorative edge and then just one sampling of your stamped images as an accent. You can use just about any motif, colors, styles – heck, you could even turn this idea into a birthday card or any just because card. The design is that simple to make yet just gorgeous.

Let’s take a closer look at Julie’s card and how easily you can make it!

Start by cutting two pieces of card stock to card panel size using the largest die from our Nested Rectangle Stitch set. Julie chose a white on white scheme for her card and it sure does make it easy since everything looks great and pops on the white! Using one of the dies from our Borders #2 set, diagonally cut off one corner of one panel. Julie used two dies to build her stitched AND scalloped edge by cutting a scrap and tucking it under.

Lay this over the other panel and lightly mark where the edge lies. Using whatever stamps and colors you like, add your decorative cluster in the corner. Julie used our Winter Bouquet set with Color Fuse Inks from Sets #3, #4 and #10. Stamp a few detail elements onto a scrap of white card stock. Use our coordinating Winter Bouquet die set, cut out your detail images.

PRO TIP: You can see that Julie stamped her background images in the lighter shades and then added darker details over. This brings some of the images to the foreground of this area and just adds to the depth and dimension of this area.

Stamp your sentiment on your die cut panel and then adhere it to the stamped panel with your tape runner. Add your die cut details with varying thicknesses of dimensional adhesive and add a few festive gems
