If you are looking for cute winter card ideas, this one will be a keeper for sure!
It’s time of year when we will see lots of fun winter card ideas and this one really struck us thanks to that sweet little kitten that makes us just want to pick her up and give her a nose boop! How cute is this? Let’s get all the making details from Annie….
Annie says she was inspired because our new Diamond With Holes Cover Die reminded her of an old, ornate window and thought it would look great in front of a frosty winter scene. We just love the effect!
Annie started by stamping our Winter Cat with Hat onto white card stock with black alcohol-friendly ink and colored in – expertly, we might add! – with her Copic markers and then cut her out with our coordinating die.
Then Annie took a piece of white card stock cut to card panel size and stamped our Splatter Background over it with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. She then applied all the inks from Color Fuse Set #8, from bottom to top, from lightest to darkest with a blending brush. We formulated our Color Fuse inks to offer the very best blending properties and this card shows that off to perfection!
Next, Annie cut pieces of white card stock with that beautiful new Diamond With Holes Cover die, our Pine Tree Forest die and our Winter Snowmen die. Note: You can always use a circle punch to make that moon at home – Annie was in her “winter” section of her die collection and spotted that nice fat circle in one of the snowmen.
She trimmed her Pine Tree Forest die cut down with scissors to span behind the cover die. For her sentiment, she stamped one from our Snowmen With Presents set onto a scrap of white card stock in Dreamer Color Fuse from Set #9 and then die cut with our Window With Pierce die. Annie sure has perfected stretching her supplies!
To assemble this adorable winter card, Annie adhered her snowy background to a card base with her tape runner, added the Pine Tree Forest and moon directly to this gorgeous scene with liquid glue and then popped her Diamond “window” panes over with some foam tape. She then added her furry little feline friend and sweet greeting with more foam tape to give it lots of dimension and some lovely shadows.
We know this example of winter card ideas you can make with our goodies will make it to your “gotta try” list. Here’s what Annie used today but remember, you can sub out that cute car for ANY focal feature – a snowman, Santa, another cute animal…… Browse the store for what strikes you!
