Today’s design for blue and white handmade Christmas cards is NOT your ordinary look – come get the details!

Blue and white handmade Christmas cards are a classic design but today Ricky has put a stunning fresh new spin on this look and we are so here for it! His use of a split circle surrounded by easy to make die cut snowflakes in a assorted blues adds tons of texture and dimension with practically no extra effort.

Let’s get his steps for the making so we can get right to our own crafty session!

Using our Snowflake Dies, cut snowflakes out of your choices of patterned paper, glitter paper, holographic paper – anything goes! Ricky used some designs from our Frosty Adventures 6 X 6 Paper Pad and raided his scrap stash for things that coordinated with his picks.

For even more details use our Leaf and Greenery #4 Die and cut some vellum scraps and your favorite solid card stock scraps that also coordinate with the other papers you decided to use for the snowflakes.

Now using our Off Set Circle With Stitch Die, cut a scrap of white card stock and run these through your favorite winter embossing folder. PRO TIP: Embossing one part of a white on white element immediately adds extra depth and dimension to a project.

Arrange your snowflakes around the offset circles and glue them down, letting them them dangle off the edges and overlap each other here and there.

Cut a thin strip of pale blue paper and adhere it over a white card sized panel where you want your circle split to line up. Adhere your circle pieces with adhesive foam tape.

Choose a sentiment – Ricky’s is from our Merry Christmas set – that will fit inside the circle in whatever way you like. Stamp it with Versamark ink onto the same paper you used for your strip and heat emboss with white powder. Add to the center of your circle with more dimension adhesive and then pop the whole thing onto a card base.

Voila! Beautiful card, no fuss, a scrap buster – what more could you ask for? Well, this makes the perfect batch card! Just cut all your snowflakes and greenery from your scraps, have a fun-in-front-of-a-movie assembly party for yourself and then just pop them onto cards as you need them or during the movie’s sequel!

Here’s what you will want from our store to use this gorgeous card design:
