Come see how to make a super fun card for Dad – just in time for Father’s Day!
There are a few occasions where you need to make a fun card for Dad and one is coming up soon – Father’s Day! Today Julie used some of our new dies to make an absolutely on point card for Dad. Swap out the greeting and this “handy” card can be used for lots of different reasons.
Let’s take a look at all the fun details in this card!
Julie started by cutting all the tools from red and silver mirror card stock and put them together with liquid glue. She created that awesome “denim” by taking some designer paper in a gray tone and sponged blue ink over it. PRO TIP: Never be afraid to alter your designer or patterned paper by inking over it to change or enhance the color or even stamping over it to add more design or texture.
Julie cut her pocket with a stitched square die and then used our Borders #1 to cut the pocket bottom. Clever! She added the stitching with a gold gel pen and tucked a piece of chip board behind the paper pocket to make it look like it was stuffed. Then she tucked the tools inside to peek out of the top.
Julie then took a piece of twill ribbon also in the wrong color so what did Julie do? Colored it! She used a red Copic marker that matched the red of her tools and colored it up. Then for that last, super cool element, she embossed more silver card stock with her metal plate embossing folder and added some aging to it with a dark gray Copic marker.
Here are all the things Julie used from our store to make this awesome project:
Do you know anyone who thinks of themselves as being really handy? Or have a friend who is addicted to HGTV? This card would be a seriously fun way to acknowledge their passion. And, at the same time, it’s an EXCELLENT card for Dad for Father’s Day!
