Hello friends – today we are sharing an idea for some cute cards for friends using one of our brand new stamp sets! Our designer used Woodland Animals #3 stamps and coordinating dies and a collection of her Copic markers on this STINKIN’ cute card! She said that she loves that this stamp set was designed to let you build your tree and shrubs in just about any shape you’d like. Let’s take a look at how she did it.
First, she stamped her branches, using some clever selective inking of various parts of the stamp to create the tree exactly as she saw it in her mind’s eye. PRO TIP: Use a fine point black pen, like the Micron she used here, to fill in any gaps. Then she stamped the trunk, flipping it over to get the extra width and to create a whole trunk. SMART!
Then she masked off the trunk to fill in with some shrubbery behind the tree. PRO TIP: Keep your masks in your stamp set packaging for repeat use.
Now build your tree at the top using the leafy edge stamps. You can add all kinds of details by stamping some of the “bumps” inside your tree border for even more detail! She added just a few flowers here and there for some fun details.
Then she colored the leafy treetop, the shrubs and flowers. She used spots of color to create that lovely leafy look. Start dabbing your darkest shade where you want the shadows and gradually move to the lighter shades as you get to the edges of your greenery. (She shared all the color Copic markers she used below.) Then she stamped the sentiment from another brand new set.
This panel was cut with the next to largest Nested Rectangle Small Stitch die and attached it to a card front embossed with the largest Nested Rectangle die using an embossing sandwich instead of a cutting sandwich in your die cutting machine. LOVE IT! The panel is attached using dimensional adhesive to show off that gorgeous embossing.
Now onto the critters! She stamped the bear, owl, and bees on a separate piece of white card stock and color with Copics and die cut them with the coordinating dies. She commented that she LOVES having dies to “cut out these cuties”. We are SO glad you love them, Carol! She attached all of them using dimensional adhesive for even more depth and impact.
Carol said “This scene was SO fun to create and that I will be using these a lot because all of the Woodland Animal Sets are so adorable and fun to use.”
Here are the supplies you will want to pull out or add to your card to make your own versions of these cute cards for friends:
