Check out this cute handmade card for a good friend with one of brand new stamp sets!

Our Design Team – including Jamie, who made this cute handmade card for a good friend for us today – has flipped for this super cute “selfie squad” image from our new Group of Friends stamp set. Everyone agrees that the idea of a group of cozy critters gathered together to post their outing on social media is hysterical and we love that it is turning out to be so popular! We ordered extras of these sets and we are SO glad we did – they are FLYING out of here.

And with this card, you can see why! Let’s go through the steps so we can make our own.

First, using a stamp positioner, stamp our Wildflower Background on white card stock with Blush Color Fuse Ink from Set #2. Don’t move the card stock! With the stamp still in place, clean it off and re-stamp with Versamark ink. Then heat emboss with clear powder to add some eye-catching shine and texture to this pretty background.

Die cut that panel using one of the dies from our Nested Rectangle Frame w/ Stitches set. While you have your machine out, cut some pink card stock with our Nested Scallop w/ Half Holes and layer the stamped panel onto it. If you don’t love pink, choose a color you do and then just pick from any of our 48 shades of Color Fuse Ink to coordinate!

Also, this is a good time to cut some detail elements using our Flower #6 die to cut some white card stock scraps.

Cut a piece of black card stock to slightly smaller than a white card base and adhere it with your tape runner to the card.

Add some foam squares to the back of your pink die cut – use enough to keep the panel from getting squished with all the passing around of this card that is SURE to happen – and add it over the black.

Now that you card base is done, stamp the furry friends onto watercolor paper with Onyx Black VersaFine Ink and heat emboss with clear powder. This extra step of heat embossing will keep your coloring in place, letting each of the critters shine. Watercolor them in with your favorite medium – Jamie used her Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens – and then cut out the image with your paper snips.

Take your white foliage that you cut from the white scraps and arrange them on the card. NOTE: This detail is difficult to see in the photos but it adds some visual movement that adds to the impact of the card. Add your animals to the center of the card with some dimensional adhesive.

Choose your favorite sentiment from the set – and yes, we love them too! Thank you for your feedback – we love hearing that you plan to use them on so many projects!  After brushing a scrap strip of black card stock  with your anti-static tool, stamp the sentiment with Versamark ink and emboss it with white powder. Trim it to span the white background panel on your card.

Add your sentiment with more dimensional adhesive, add some pink enamel dots on each side to anchor the phrase and then add a few black polka dotted enamel dots around the selfie-takers for a playful detail.ADORABLE! Here are the items Jamie used today – go ahead and grab this set because between the funny little group of friends and the sentiments, this is one you will use over and over!
