A white on white embossing paste background adds so much texture!
We’ve seen plenty of cool cards made with embossing paste and today’s embossing paste background adds a TON of texture and wow with just one simple extra step. Melinda has made this card for us so let’s see what magical touches she’s used today!
Melinda started with her beautiful flowers. She stamped the smaller blossoms and a few leaves using our Poetic Peonies stamp set. Melinda says “stamp a half sheet of card stock so you have lots of extra images. Any that you don’t use come in handy when you need a quick card.” PRO TIP: Save your stamped and/or die cut and/or colored extras with your stamp set for easy retrieval.
Melinda colored her images with her Copics and die cut – with our coordinating die – and fussy cut them out. Thanks to her tip above, Melinda already had a sentiment from our Dessert Set ready to go!
Next Melinda cut a piece of white card stock with our Slimline Solid Deckle die and then, laying our Slimline Stained Glass Stencil over it, smoothed on some white embossing paste, not worrying about getting edge to edge coverage.
Melinda removed the stencil and immediately wiped it off so the embossing paste couldn’t become one with the stencil! Then, while the embossing paste was still tacky, she applied a little gold leaf here and there. When the embossing paste was completely dry, she wiped off the excess gold leaf.
For even more texture and visual movement, Melinda spattered just a little black ink over her slimline panel and arranged her flowers and leaves. When she had them just so, she adhered everything to the stenciled panel with her tape runner except for a single blossom that she added with foam tape. After adhering this panel to a slimline card base, this card was ready to wow some super lucky person!
Here are the items Melinda used on her card today – snap up what you don’t have and try this out for yourself!
We really wish these photos of this truly stunning card really showed all the details. That embossing paste background adds so much and then Melinda’s use of the gold leaf just takes it all to a new level of spectacular. Try it out!
I love this card! The textures, the colors and placement! Thanks for sharing!
It truly is – we wish we could let you all see it in person! Thank you for your nice words!
