SUPER quick and easy, yet gorgeous, this Fall silhouette card idea is a KEEPER!
Silhouette cards are perfect for so many occasions and this Fall silhouette card totally fits that bill. Using a pretty (and so easy to make) stenciled background with that bold pop of black on top adds loads of impact with a minimum of effort. We saw a card with this same black-on-color yesterday and this is another example of how beautifully this approach works.
Jamie created this for us and here are all the steps she’s laid out for us so we can try this out too. Let’s take a look!
Start by cutting a piece of white card stock with one of the dies from our Mini Slimline Nested With Stitch set. Set this under our Slimline Stained Glass Stencil and apply your choice of inks from Color Fuse Sets #1 and #2 to create that warm glowing background.
Stamp the flowers from our Silhouette Wildflowers #2 set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink (or other embossable ink) on the panel toward the bottom and heat emboss with clear powder for that solid shine.
Choose a greeting and stamp that with the same ink, also heat embossing it with clear powder for uniformity and more crisp pop.
Using our Small Butterflies die and scrap of black card stock, cut one butterfly, gently shape the wings upward and adhere above the sentiment. To finish, add a few rhinestones around the flowers and sentiment. Don’t forget to admire your work!
