There’s still time to make a fishing Father’s Day card using our fun new dies!
Today we are sharing a fishing Father’s Day card made for us by Kittie to show off some of our brand new dies. The fabulous thing about this card is that you can use it any time you want to recognize someone who loves to spend time fishing, all year long! You can see every step over on Kittie’s blog and we wanted to point out some of the highlights here.
First, we love the way Kittie used a blender brush and the same colors of Color Fuse ink for the sky and the water – she just added more layers to the water to intensify the color and give the water a look of depth.
Kittie also used her “famous” wet baby wipe inking technique on her tree. She starts with die cutting the tree out of kraft colored card stock and uses a fresh baby wipe to apply ink to give it that streaky look of bark. You can see her whole explanation of this genius PRO TIP on her blog.
Kittie also always adds a little magic to her foliage and these leaves appear to pop off the page thanks to her use of a molding pad and shaping tools to give them realistic dimension.
Even though it’s hard to see in these images, Kittie applied Versmark ink to those itty bitty fish and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. When we say they look fresh caught…….they absolutely look like they were JUST pulled from the water!
It’s all of these details and more that make Kittie’s cards so much fun to see AND to make! Be sure to pop over to her blog and get all her PRO TIPS!
Here are the items you will want from your stash or our store to make this card:
