When Lisa made this card she talked about cutting out a whole slew of little owls and their cute little Halloween costumes. She says she had fun one night in front of the TV just playing around with all her extra pieces and dressing up her little owls. PRO TIP: This is a FABULOUS activity to keep the kids busy! She had tucked her little fellas aside for a project like this one.

Let’s see how this came together. First, Lisa created that fun purple background by blending purple inks, like those from Color Fuse Set #6, over white card stock and then splattered a little water over the top, blotting with a paper towel. Then she took it a step up and splattered some more paints and inks over the top, diluting them with a little water and then just loading up and tapping her brush over the panel. Let it all dry completely!

Then she layered that gorgeous purpliciousness over black, trimming to fit her slimline card base. She cut a piece of black card stock with the Slimline OPC (One Piece Cut) Scallop Die and used dimensional adhesive to pop the frame up over the background. PRO TIP: Save those little squares and any other shapes that are cut using these dies because they are fabulous to use on other projects!

Then Lisa, cut multiples of all the letters from white card stock and set aside 3 B’s and 6 O’s for this project, tucking the rest away for another project. She then stacked the letters together using liquid glue for a nice thick, dimensional look. She added a hint of bling with some Wink of Stella wiped over the tops and then covered them with Glossy Accents. Lisa says in real life this REALLY makes the letters pop!

Then all she had to do was add her premade owls with various thicknesses of foam tape and adhesive. She even added a few sequins just to pump up the fun!
