Today’s handmade springy floral birthday card is packed with blooms!
It’s our birthday month and we are celebrating big time! We were looking at some of the beautiful projects we’ve shared and felt like this handmade springy floral birthday card needed to be shown off. All those delicious blossoms, massed in the opposite corners, creates such a beautiful balance and frames the simple sentiment so perfectly!
This card from Kittie was featured about a year ago and it’s such a timeless design that it looks fresh and current today. She shares all the steps for how to make this in her original post which you can see here and we wanted to mention a couple of highlights.
Kittie used our Mini Slimline Window Cover die to make her trellis for her flowers and you see how, by popping it up with some dimensional adhesive, you get a beautiful little shadow that pulls you right into the scene.
She also used the die to cut the center pale purple base for her sentiment to create that perfect fit and popped that up, too, so the sentiment gets some prominence.
Then, by cutting several sets of our Large Ivy die from green and then plenty of scraps purple card stock to cut the Flower Buds. she created these lush arrangements of these tiny die cut details to create the focal elements of her card. Using a single floral element with a single foliage element in mass quantities, adds tons of texture and a feeling of “visual luxury”. And it’s easy to boot!
Here are the items Kittie used on this pretty card perfect for a spring birthday:
