For our Jewish fans, friends and customer we wish you a blessed Yom Kippur and that you may have an easy fast.
In the Jewish faith Yom Kippur – the Day of Atonement – is considered the most important holiday. It is believed that during this time God decides each person’s fate and so Jewish people are encouraged to make amends and ask forgiveness for sins committed in the past year. Jewish people fast from food and water for 25 hours over this day and attend special religious service.
Jewish people believe that with their atonement their names are inscribed in the book of life. As a result, observant Jews consider Yom Kippur and the days leading up to it a time for prayer, good deeds, reflecting on past mistakes and making amends with others.
After the final Yom Kippur service, a festive meal traditionally consisting of breakfast-like comfort foods such as blintzes, noodle pudding and baked goods is enjoyed by families.
And so we say to you who celebrate “G’mar chatima tova”.
