For those last minute rushes, check out this almost instant slimline Christmas card!

This “instant” slimline Christmas card is so stinkin’ adorable and truly does come together in single digit minutes. The secret is our beyond adorable Winter Train Slimline Paper Pad, the available coordinating dies and our oversized Merry and Christmas Word With Shadow Dies. With twelve pages of the winter train and 12 pages of backgrounds, you can make a dozen cards so quickly, you might feel like Samantha from Bewitched. Except you won’t have to learn to wiggle your nose. Just follow Julie’s directions below!

Julie used a clever layering trick for her background so we will start with that. She cut her sheet of patterned paper with the largest die in our Slimline Nested Stitch set, giving her a die cut panel and a very slim frame. She then cut a piece of card stock the same color as her card base to offer a narrow border around the die cut piece. Julie adhered that skinny frame to her card base, then the card stock layer and last the die cut patterned paper. This gives the illusion of multiple layers and adds a lot of detail with an easy cut!

Then she just cut out all the gorgeous details on the image sheets with the coordinating dies, arranged them on her card front and adhere them down. For a few of her details, Julie cut scraps of white card stock with the same die as the image and made little stacks to add some more dimension.

She cut the word dies with red card stock for the script portions, white for the shadows and after adhering them together with some liquid glue – gotta have that wiggle time to get them aligned so beautifully – popped them on to her card.

Isn’t that so fun? And to be able to make a stack in such short time is a total bonus! Here’s what Julie used today:
