Did you ever think a big beautiful bunch of paper ivy leaves could make such a gorgeous statement on a card? Today’s designer loves keeping cards with simple messages at the ready to give out for a quick thank you or just to let someone know she’s thinking of them.  Take a look at this stunning card:Rubbernecker Blog img_2565-1

She started by stamping the daisy background on a sheet of vellum and heat embossed with white embossing powder. With Copic markers in the colors YG01 and YG000 the back of the vellum was colored to add that dreamy look to the daisies.PRO TIP: Applying color on the reverse side of any opaque paper creates a much softer look.

Then a simple heart die was used to cut the center out of the vellum panel and then run through a second time using the inside Scalloped Nesting Die. Then a matching panel  of white card stock was cut with the with the same nested die and heart die. The colored vellum was then attached to the cardstock panel.

Now for that bounty of paper ivy leaves! Our designer die cut the Small Ivy multiple times and colored them with Copics in the colors YG23 and YG21. We just love how she shaded some of them with both colors to add so much depth!

The entire vellum/cardstock panel was attached with foam tape to the white card base and she did some ink blending in green inside the heart to help hide any white that might peek through – BRILLIANT, right? Then she glued down all the vines inside the heart and added some small flowers with a soft pink Nuvo drop in the center.

Last, the word was cut three times from black cardstock and stacked to create a standout, dimensional pop. She used liquid glue to attach it to the vines and added glossy accents to it for some extra dimension and shine. The card was finished off with the sentiment heat embossed in white on black card stock.

We just can’t get over all the texture and depth and dimension this card shows off and with the multiples of the paper ivy leaves and tiny flowers on each die, you can make a nice luxurious bunch in just a few spins through your die cutting machine.
