Slimline cards are still hot, hot, hot and we are just loving this super cute slimline peekaboo birthday card made by our Associated Designer, Julie. We just love how she put all her colorful detail into the peekaboo part and created that gorgeous crisp blue and white for the front. Want to see how she did it?
She created the peekaboo background by stamping our super popular Slimline Birthday background stamp in black ink on white card stock. She used her Copic markers to add all that glorious color and shading in mostly bold, primary colors. This consistency in color choices really helps them all pop against the crisp white. Our customers LOVE this stamp because, as they often tell us, it’s perfect for slimline birthday cards and we sized and placed the images so you can cut it up for A2, ATC and other sized projects. And, until Friday, it’s on sale!
Here are the Copics she used for the background:
Then Julie used our Slimline Scallops With Stitch dies to cut the back panel and then used our Slimline Peekaboo Fancy Edge inside another Slimline Scallop die for the front. This is why we love our slimline insert dies – you can add those coordinating edges to make your projects look so sharp!
To punch up the white layers and highlight the blues in the background, Julie added a narrow layer of blue between her two white scalloped panels. What a difference that little layer adds!
Here are the items Julie used from our store – remember, until Friday, everything birthday is on sale!
