We can’t contain ourselves – check out this summer themed Rubbernecker sneak peek!

Tomorrow is the day – Our June Release will go live for everyone and we just could not wait one more second to share this absolutely adorable summer themed Rubbernecker sneak peek featuring one of our new sets. We shared some tiny peeks the other day and this gives you a look at a full sized image from one of the new sets.

Jamie has made this for us and she says “I thought this cute little seahorse needed an ocean background but I wanted to keep it clean and simple.” She sure hit the mark! Let’s dive in and see how it’s made!

First, Jamie stamped the images from our brand new Every Summer Set onto watercolor paper with Onyx Black VersaFine ink and colored them up with her Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. Cut out all your images.

Jamie then took a piece of white card stock trimmed slightly smaller than her card base and stamped her sentiment with Dreamer Color Fuse ink from Set #9 in the upper right third of the panel. She then added her “sand” by sprinkling some sparkly embossing powder in a small patch at the bottom of the right side and using her heat tool, heated the area from BELOW the card stock. PRO TIP: This trick lets you add embossing powder without using embossing ink. Heating from below – which make take a little bit longer depending on the weight of your card stock – lets the melting occur without blowing the powder off the surface.

Jamie adhered her little accent images over the embossed area.

For that textural details, Jamie cut a piece of white card stock with our Slimline OPC Fish Scales die, trimmed it down and then adhered it using some dabs of liquid glue to the left side of the panel. She then used her tape runner to add this panel to a light blue card base.
Now for her cute little waves, Jamie cut the top of a scrap of card stock using the curly topped die from our Waves Die set and using it as a stencil, applied shades of ink from Color Fuse Set #9. In this case, Jamie kept the stencil in a fixed position instead of offsetting it. This gave the pattern a regularity that let it add detail but not distract from the focal element.Rubbernecker Blog RN-Ocean-b-6-2022-JM-500x500

When she was done, Jamie die-cut the waves panel using one of the dies from our Nested Oval Stitch set and then cut a piece of white card stock with the next largest die. She layered these together with her tape runner.Rubbernecker Blog RN-Ocean-c-6-2022-JM-500x500

She adhered this oval element over her fish scales with some dimensional adhesive and then added her stinkin’ cute seahorse over that with more foam tape. After accenting her sentiment with a couple of enamel dots, this card was send-ready!

Here are the things Jamie used today with the exception of the set that will be released TOMORROW!
