We have Dawn to thank for this lovely, heartfelt hand stamped butterfly sympathy card. Her simple, subtle touches add depth and texture for lots of details that still allow the poem to be the star of the show. The mini slimline size provides such a nice space for this touching verse and creates a peaceful look that is perfectly appropriate.
Let’s get her steps for the making so we can create our own versions of this gracious card.
Dawn started by cutting a piece of white card stock to 3 1/2″ X 6″ and then used our SLI Circle Lattice die to cut the design about 2/16″ from the left side, leaving room for the sentiment on the right side.

Dawn then cut some strips of kraft colored card stock to adhere to the white borders of the die cut area with her tape runner.

Using her stamp positioner, Dawn stamped the poem from our Sympathy Phrases set with VersaFine black ink. Dawn says “This ink is perfect for small letters. You will have to give it time to dry because it is a pigment ink. Don’t forget this step or you will smear your ink.”

All that was left to do for this add some tiny white butterflies cut with our Small Butterflies Die and this beautiful CAS bereavement card is done and ready to send.

Here is the very short list of items Dawn used to make this card:
- 3440 Sympathy Phrases – 4×8 Stamp Set
- RN 5332-01D SLI Circle Lattice Die
- 5147-08D Small Butterflies Die

We think this hand stamped butterfly sympathy card is perfect for any expression of compassion and kindness during a sad time. You can change out the kraft card stock for other colors, too, and still have a very subtle but so pretty and soothing message of support.
