See some fun ways to use die cut frames on your cards!
Inspired by a card that got a ton of love, we thought it would be fun to share cards that give you ideas for fun way to use die cut frames. Whether you use just one to spotlight an element, a set of nested frames to build some drama or layered frame die cuts to create gorgeous depth, these often unsung heroes of card making deserve some attention!
First, here’s the card that got us thinking about this:
For this card that you can see in more detail here, Kittie combined our Floral Frame die with one of the frames in our fabulous Rectangle Combo OPC #4 to create both an outline and a decorative element in which her beautifully detailed scene comes to life.
You can see another example of this kind of thing here:
You can pop over here to see the details and how more layered frame die cuts added all that beautiful detail. And it’s SO easy!
Here are some other cards that just might inspire you to check out your collection of frame dies.
This one pops a die cut frame over a stenciled background:
This one uses another frame die cut to offer simple spots for single die cut elements, making this style of card a FLASH to make! There isn’t a theme you couldn’t use this idea on to make a simple but stunning card.
And, one more (we can’t help it – there are SO many gorgeous cards!), this project lets the frame “float” over the background, creating that perfect spot to build out the details.
Honestly – we had a really hard time picking these examples of ways to use die cut frames because there are so many on the blog. From our OPC frames that are an exceptional value to our insanely popular inside and outside scalloped sets to our humongous collection of slimline and mini slimline dies including lots of fun frames, we have something for everyone.
